Ten makers you can visit this November

Food trips are not just for summer. November is when many makers are at their busiest, filling shelves for Christmas, and when a warm farm shop or a tasting room feels best. Here are ten makers on Earth & Ocean you can visit this month, from Holy Island to the far west of Cornwall.
Opening times were checked on each maker's own website on 27 October 2026. Hours can change in winter, so check before you travel.
1. Caws Teifi Cheese, Llandysul, Ceredigion

The longest established artisan cheesemaker in Wales, making raw milk Teifi and Celtic Promise on an organic farm. The farm shop sells their cheese and cultured butter, and they run cheese and butter making courses.
Open: Monday to Saturday, 10am - 4pm. See Caws Teifi Cheese.
2. Stirling Distillery, Stirling

Scotland's smallest whisky distillery, in an old smiddy below Stirling Castle. Drop in for a short tasting or book the longer gin experience.
Open: Monday to Saturday 11am - 5pm, Sunday 12pm - 5pm. See Stirling Distillery.
3. Biddenden Vineyards, Biddenden, Kent

Kent's original vineyard, still family run. Take the autumn and winter "Behind the Glass" tour and stock up on Gribble Bridge sparkling wine and cider for Christmas.

4. Archers Ice Cream, Walworth Gate, Darlington

A family dairy farm making ice cream from its own Jersey cows' milk, served at the farm parlour. Yes, ice cream in November. It is worth it.
Open: Farm parlour open daily, 11am - 6pm. See Archers Ice Cream.
5. Pilgrims Coffee, Holy Island, Northumberland

A coffee roastery in a walled garden on Lindisfarne, where the opening hours follow the tide. Cross the causeway, walk the island, then warm up with coffee roasted a few yards away.
Open: Hours change daily with the tide. Check their opening times and the causeway crossing times before you set off. See Pilgrims Coffee.
6. Perry's Cider, Dowlish Wake, Somerset

Farmhouse and single variety ciders made near Ilminster, with a shop, tap room and cafe. Try a tasting paddle and leave with a bag of Somerset produce.

8. Halen Môn, Brynsiencyn, Anglesey

9. Kernow Chocolate, St Eval, Cornwall
Watch chocolate being made through the viewing window at the factory shop, best between 10am and 3pm, and finish with a hot chocolate.
