EPRONTO

At the heart of EPRONTO is the Bianchin family. Originally from Padova, Italy, they moved to Scotland in 2015. Their recipes are their Nonna’s, who has always made the best lasagna with the help of her husband, Nonno Ilario. In 2016 their love for food led them to open Cateritaly in Glasgow, an Italian catering business based on Nonna’s recipes and her legacy for great quality food.

Cateritaly is a family run business that sees the cooperation of the whole family, Chef Francesca (aka Mum) & Franco (aka Dad) and their daughters Linda, Lucia and Susanna.

IN ITALY WHEN A MEAL IS READY, THE WHOLE FAMILY GATHERS AROUND THE TABLE WHEN THE COOK SHOUTS – É PRONTO!! – WHICH LITERALLY TRANSLATES TO ‘IT’S READY’ OR ‘DINNER IS ON THE TABLE’…!

In March 2020 the catering business was working well. EPRONTO ragù was a kind of plan B, but suddenly – for reasons we all understand – it was all they could do, as all catering business disappeared overnight. So, they focused all their energy and strength on EPRONTO. They began with 3 varieties of EPRONTO ragù sauces, Bolognese made with Beef and Pork, Venison and Lambfollowed shortly by 2 more versions: Mediterranean, using Tuna (a classic sauce using a family recipe, tasty and versatile, try it on your pizza… it takes it to another level!) and Seitan – a Vegan option using Seitan as meat replacement.

Finally came their Meatballs in Tomato Sauce – these are even more ‘pronto’ than ragù! There are 8 beef meatballs in each jar, with lots of tasty tomato sauce, very easy to re-heat on the hob or in the microwave for a quick snack for one – or if added to spaghetti a delicious meal for 2 (actually one of the boys in the family reheats a jar of Meatballs in Tomato Sauce as a quick, tasty and nutritious snack back from school in the afternoon!).

Within Italian cuisine, Ragú can be found in several recipes as a delicious and versatile condiment that requires a long preparation time. So, EPRONTO have packed it in convenient & ready to use jars, to let everybody have a restaurant quality meal without any effort! (Remember for pasta it’s 10g of salt per litre of boiling water!).

None of EPRONTO’s products contain preservatives, colourings, thickeners or any added sugar. They are all are low in salt and their Bolognese, Lamb, Venison and Mediterranean products are also gluten free. The long shelf life comes from their carefully performed sterilisation process.

EPRONTO’s aim is to make life, cooking and feeding the family easy and quick and use good quality ingredients – exactly like Nonna would have prepared!
